. . . . . . . . . :-)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .The Internet!

Some people say the Internet is vile,
They say It doesn't suit them, so they rant
And rave; beneath their nipple all the while
Beats heart for Less Competing -- mindless cant.

Some people say the Internet is cool,
A web of great potential for the scribes,
Beneath their nipple beats the heart of mule,
Spouting stubborn and persistent diatribes.

For TRUTH look to the future it would seem,
The Internet! A nightmare? or a dream?!

(-:

. . . . . You are about to embark on what may be the most interesting journey you have ever taken. You have opened a web book, my book, for I am a writer. I wrote this story just for you. It has a beginning and an end. This however is a book about the internet, so any similarity to any other story you've ever read stops here. This is because the middle of this book, the content, is made up of the internet itself, a virtually infinite store of wonders and exciting things to see and to experience.

. . . . . . . . . . . .The Internet

Vast and huge it spans the Earth
with knowledge and wisdom for all its Worth,
so share your mind in the bounding Birth
of the Internet! Add YOUR fire to its Hearth!

. . . . . Yes, there is some stuff here about me. There are some things I have written, some prose, a few of my poems, a journal. Yet all this is just a tiny part of this book's entire content. From inside this book you can access many search engines. These are easy to use and can help you find information on almost any subject you are curious about. You will also find that you can open some UseNet newsgroups within this story. There are links to fascinating web sites within this book. You will be able to use your computer's ALT-TAB ability and your browser's BACK button and GO menu to flip through the pages of this story. Also, if you squick your mouse on a link marked "new," and you don't notice the new material, you may need to hit the RELOAD button on your browser.

. . . . . A word about "reading the internet." -- There is still much to be learned about how to make the internet easier to read, easier on the eyes. The pages in this book that are personally designed by me for you are made with your eyes' comfort in mind. You will, in your journey, come across many pages designed by others that are not as easy to read. One thing you can do about this is to use a browser that allows you to set the background color, to override the background color of any web page. Then use this ability to set your overriding background color to a pastel green. A light green background is very easy on your eyes. And pastel green will be a suitable background for most of the pages within this story.

. . . . . One more thing -- You may find it helpful to BOOKMARK one of these first pages of this story. Just add a page to your FAVORITES List. You can use the Bookmark you make to aid you in your epic journey into, around, about and through THE . I N T E R N E T . STORY !

. . . . . Now, I still have some stuff to do to add more material to this story. You can go ahead and get started if you like. Here are the Acknowledgments . Just squick your mouse on --

this THANK YOU link !
